Floating and trunnion-mounted ball valves for oil and gas
Floating and trunnion-mounted, full and reduced bore. API 6D, fire-safe and NACE, ½" to 48".
Overview
Ball valves give bubble-tight shut-off with a quarter turn, which makes them the standard isolation valve in oil and gas production, gas transmission and most process plants. Floating-ball designs cover small sizes and lower classes; trunnion-mounted designs carry the pressure load on bearings and are specified for large sizes, high classes and pipeline duty.
We supply ball valves to API 6D and API 608 from European and Korean manufacturers held in stock in Dubai, including fire-safe designs certified to API 607 and API 6FA, anti-static and blow-out-proof stems, double block and bleed configurations and NACE MR0175 sour-service materials.
Trunnion valves can be supplied with gear operators, bare stems to ISO 5211 for actuation, extended stems for buried service, and drains, vents and sealant injection fittings.
Typical applications
- Wellhead and gathering systems
- Gas transmission and distribution pipelines
- Gas processing, LPG and LNG facilities
- Refinery and petrochemical isolation
- Pig launcher and receiver stations
- Emergency shutdown (ESD) with actuators

Frequently asked questions
When do I need a trunnion-mounted ball valve instead of floating?
Floating valves push the ball against the downstream seat using line pressure, so torque and seat load rise with size and pressure. Above roughly 2" Class 600, 4" Class 300 or 6" Class 150, specify trunnion-mounted.
Are your ball valves fire-safe certified?
Yes. We supply valves with API 607 (soft-seated) and API 6FA (API 6D) fire-test certification from the manufacturer, and include the certificate in the documentation package.
Can you supply double block and bleed ball valves?
Yes, both as DBB trunnion valves with a body bleed and as compact instrument DBB valves from Oliver Valves.
